EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM

As I had written in previous post, education in Malaysia before independence are been supervise and control by British colonel. They control all the education stuff and separate people according to race and standard. Not all people can get through the education until the highest.  This make Malaysian people hard to achieve successful because lack of knowledge.

But today people are easily can get education anytime, anywhere. Thanks to our government that manage well the plan for better education.

Malaysia government have to plan well for a better education as they want all people have fair and better education. For instance, they recently had launched 'Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia 2013-2025'

The combination of education and technology has been considered the main key to human progress. If we can ask the older generation what the present had learn in school, I bet none of them are really understand what the present had develop education in school.

Government nowadays found many alternative to enhanced education. One of the alternative is to ensure that all schools must have computers and projector in learning process at schools. They want students to been exposed by the technology. Besides, technology also had make the learning process and students' life much easier.

If we want to talk the differences between the past and present generations, there must be to much to talk about. Just be grateful for what we already had and bare in mind that history did teach us to be great than before.

INFORMATION:

Education in Malaysia nowadays is been watch over by two government ministries.

• The Ministry of Education (Kementerian Pelajaran) handles substance pertaining to pre-school, primary school, secondary school and post-secondary school.
• The  Ministry of Higher Education (Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi) handles all matters regarding tertiary education. 

The main legislation governing education is the Education Act of 1996.

Today's education and past education are extremely different. At this moment, most of the methods of learning are using electronic (computer, laptop, Internet, projector,etc.).


As we back on past education, there is no electronic device; even worse there is no even a calculator. All the learning process only use books, board and chalk.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND THE PURPOSE OF EDUCATION.

The purpose of education is to spread the information and knowledge. Well, as for me, technology is the best partner for education.

Students in this 21st century are very easily to get information. Only by one clicking, every information are ready to dole out. 

Some research shows that most of students in Malaysia are using technologies equipment in their learning process, and for the result, their knowledge and productivity had increased unpredictable. 

There's are a lot of others benefit in technology towards education such as:

• easy access to information
• greater interest in learning
• increased retention of information
• knowledge sharing made easy
• better presentation of information
• robust information storage

In this 21^st century, I believe that technology plays an essential role in every way of life. With application of technology, worlds get better changed; especially in education. As for nowadays, technology can be a powerful tool for learning.

 

Education is influenced by technology in a very real way. It develops in all aspect of education. 

But people actually should remember that all things in the world have their own pros and cons. Don’t let technology controls us, we should control technology.

Education in Malaysia is an ongoing effort towards further development of the potential of individuals in a holistic and integrated manner, so as to produce individuals who are intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically balanced and harmonious based on a firm belief in God. Such an effort is destined to produce Malaysian citizens who are knowledgeable, who possess high moral standards, and who are responsible and capable of achieving a high level of personal well being as well as able to contribute to the harmony and betterment of the nation at large (Ministry of Education, 1993)                                                                                    

-National Educational Philosophy

At some stage before Malaysia’s get independence, the education was been monitor under control by British colonial government.  All the education and learning stuffs and method are under watch of the British. This condition makes Tanah Melayu (Malaysia’s name before get independence) a little bit behind from modernization.

But nowadays, along with modernization of technologies, Malaysia’s educations have changed.

Educations nowadays are no longer using only a book, blackboard and chalk. With existing technologies that we have at this moment, students can better learning by using projector, online classroom, video conferencing learning, etc.

Current research had shown that students are more attract and interested in study if using modern technologies in learning/study. Their productivity also increases at some point. This may lead to successful in study.

Thanks to our ancestor for the independence, we now can have this booming innovation.

Malaysia’s education had through many phases of revolutionizes. For after many decades, we still trying and trying to fulfil the education with the best tools, equipments and technologies for better education for each students in Malaysia.

If we can see from past and present, there’s a huge contrast in education. This is because, education in past still under shadow of the colonization of British.

Education before independence and now are not the same. 

All race can be in one school; no need to be separate
anymore

In past, we have to sit according to the race. For instance, Malay people will only study about the religion(Islam) and other stuff. For Chinese people, they will learn only from the book that had been printed by CHINA. And same goes to Indian people; only learn things from India.

In past, their educations are limited. All the education must be checked by the British first before they can learn. This is why they are a little bit behind from the modernization.

Things are different after independence. Educations are more enhanced rather than the past. There are no different schools, learning. Now, Malaysia has many different schools such as:

1.    Sekolah Kebangsaan

2.    Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan - SJK(c)

3.    Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan – SJK (t)

Even though the schools are different, but they learning the same thing. Same education, same methods, same technologies. Now, educations are under control from Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (Ministry of Education).

EDUCATION

 What is the meaning of education? In my opinion, education is the act or process of imparting or acquiring particular knowledge or skills for mature life. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. 

Education is important as we need it to study so we can achieve something more in our life. We need to develop the world. Thanks to our ancestor that struggling so hard to get independence, now we can have better education.

Education should authorize us to envision a better world. We need education to give us the knowledge and skills to participate in society in a meaningful and productive way.

Over the years, since the country's independence and under the supervision by our Ministers and all responsible parties from past and present, our country educational system has changed a lot in many aspects.  

Malaysia's educations nowadays are totally changed compared to previous. There's a lot of tool and equipment that we can use in learning and teaching process at classrooms today. 

Besides, learning process nowadays are using new trend technologies as we are the 21 century people. Prior to British colonization, education was so informal and limited for certain people based on their skills, ability and standard of status.

Conclusion:  From time to time, our Education system has changed and gone through various reviews. As to achieve the aim of Malaysia's Vision 2020, we all have to be united and together to develop more not only in economy, science and technologies, but also in education to ensure that Malaysian's will never like be what the previous.
